Cerro Negro was born in 1850 and has since then it has been one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua, with the last eruption occurring in 1999. After an hour’s drive and rising out of the green forests, the black walls of Cerro Negro create a bizarre contrast with its surroundings. Upon arrival to the base, equipment at hand, it is time to the trails and black dunes formed by former lava. Once up on top at the crater you will receive technical training from your experienced bilingual guide, put on your protective equipment to get ready for the ride of your life! Where else can you descend by ash boarding, similar to snow boarding, an active volcano?
